This wonderful journey includes:
- Fully escorted with Tour Leader and support staff throughout your stay
- All activities and entrance fees as stated in itinerary (unless an activity is listed as optional)
- All hotels and food as listed. B&B all nights, welcome and farewell dinners
- Private transport but also by train and occassionaly other local means (such as camels) to enhance your experience
- Transfers from and to Delhi airport: These are available up to 3 days before the tour start date, and up to 3 days after the tour finishes.

DAY 1 Sat Depart UK (20th March/9th Oct, 2021)
With India being several hours ahead of the UK, most flights arrive next day. If you want to arrive earlier in India, for example leave Friday night and arrive today we can book extra accommodation for you at a competitive price. We always pick you up from the airport, free of charge, whenever you arrive. We can also give you advice on how to see more of Delhi independently. It's easy.
DAY 2 Sun Arrive Delhi (1 night)
We will pick you up from the airport and provide a transfer to your hotel. For those who fly in early, today we offer a free tour of some of Delhi’s sights. Tonight we invite you to our enjoyable included Welcome Meal (no charge to you).
DAY 3 Mon Mandawa (1 night)
Today we leave the city for the small desert town of Mandawa - altogether different from Delhi. Mandawa was once on the Silk Route stretching from Afghanistan to the Bay of Bengal. Today or tomorrow (depending on our arrival) we’ll take you on a guided walk of this fascinating little town with free time to explore. Expect colourful people, mules or camels along the streets.
DAY 4 Tues Camel Safari (1 night)
Later this morning we depart for our drive deeper into the desert. We’ll take you to a small village, where we’ll be given camels and ride into the desert. Tonight we’ll set up camp (with included simple dinner) for a night under the stars. Bring pyjamas as the desert can get cold. Please note, if you are uncomfortable with camping in the desert we can take you to our next Bikaner hotel where you stay two nights at a small extra charge.
DAY 5 Wed Bikaner (1 night)
This morning we’ll take you on a short drive to Bikaner; your first desert city. Bikaner is a lively place with a wonderful desert fortress that we’ll visit. This afternoon we’ll also take you to a camel breeding centre to see herds of camels coming in to feed in the late day sun; a mesmorising sight! Tonight free to enjoy our hotel. Today or tomorrow we can also walk you into the town to experience its hustle and bustle.
DAY 6 Thurs Jaisalmer (2 nights)
After breakfast we drive to the far west of India, to magical Jaisalmer, a medieval city like something from ‘Arabian Nights’ . Here, we’ll stay for two nights.
DAY 7 Fri Jaisalmer Rest Day
Free time to explore Jaisalmer at your own pace. Jaisalmer enjoys a wonderful setting with its citadel rising out of the desert. You can enjoy wandering around its medieval alleyways, shop for handicrafts, dine at rooftop restaurants and enjoy sunset over its fortress walls. There are sometimes local operators offering drives over sand dunes in the desert. Please note these activities fall outside of Angel Holidays itinerary and you do so at your own risk. Please ensure you have proper insurance.
DAY 8 Sat Drive to Jodhpur, 1 night
Today we drive to the ‘blue city of Jodhpur. This afternoon we’ll explore its dramatic fortress or you may prefer to even zipline around its walls (please note a operator offers this and it falls outside of our itinerary so you do so at your own risk). We will also give you free time to wander around its busy markets. Evening free. Dining in Jodhpur at a rooftop restaurant, dominated by the fortress lit up at night, is a delight.
DAY 9 Sun Udaipur, 2 nights
Today we make our drive south and to one of the most romantic cities in India; Udaipur. En route we’ll visit the Exotic Marigold Hotel, used for the movies with Judy Dench, Richard Gere etc. Here. we stop for afternoon tea (free to you) as well as take you on a walk around its fascinating desert village – largely in the middle of nowhere. Tonight free to enjoy magical Udaipur. Perhaps this evening you may decide to dine alfresco at one of the many rooftop restaurants overlooking the water. Tonight is the first evening of Holi!
DAY 10 Mon Udaipur
This morning you are free to enjoy the wonderful festival of Holi, the rest of day free to explore Udaipur.
DAY 11 Tues Train to Jaipur 2 nights
Today we rise early and take you to the station for our train to the capital city of Rajasthan – Jaipur, also known as the pink city. On arrival, the rest of the day is free. You may want to wander around its lively bazaars.
Day 12 Wed Jaipur
Today Rest Day. We also offer an optional (chargeable) day trip seeing the Palace of Winds, the City Palace Museum and the Janta Manta observatory (featured on Dan Cruikshank’s ‘Around the world in 80 Treasures’). This trip also includes Amber fort, that lies 10 miles outside the city.
Day 13 Thurs Agra
Today we drive to Agra. This afternoon we include a visit to the spectacular Taj Mahal; the most beautiful building on earth.
DAY 14 Fri Delhi
Today we drive back to Delhi and enjoy our farewell dinner after this exceptional tour.
