1st – 16th March, 2025.  Includes the festival of Holi! A wonderful and evocative tour of India into the desert state of Rajasthan; the cultural heart of India. This is the sub continent at its finest: exotic, intoxicating and beguiling. You’ll ride camels and camp under the stars in the desert. Visit epic fortresses and palaces, see the lake city of Udaipur – the most romantic in India, the pilgrimage lake town of Pushkar, the Taj Mahal and even the Exotic Marigold hotel used for the movies with Dame Judi Dench and others, on this classic tour of India. This special tour will also enjoy Holi, the festival of light and colour in the most classic location to see it – Jaipur.

Along our tour of India, we’ll stop at remote villages and see unusual sites, please don’t expect a typical sightseeing holiday. Accommodation has been chosen to enhance your authentic experience from havelis (old trader houses) to heritage hotels. We’ll travel by train, private bus, the occasional rickshaw, camels and other forms of unusual transport. As with all our tours, there’s free time to explore whilst having the support of the group.
